Tiny purse
I saw the dress on the form in a magazine and decided to make them as little motifs, put one on this little purse and I think it's really cute. I have made a few and put them on a lap quilt that I've made.

Humming bird found
My daughter was playing with my grandsons in the yard yesterday afternoon and found this female humming bird trying to fly. We think she may have a broken wing. We took her to the Wildlife Center. I hope she made it. She looked like she was in good condition other than her wing. I just love birds, but the Humming bird and Bluebirds are my favorite. Humming birds are the only birds that can fly backwards. Their so beautiful and so tiny!

Comfort Doll and Iris Folding Vase
This is doll number 16. I need a LOT of practice beading, that's for sure. This little doll will be going to Pat when I'm done with 2 more. I made the Iris Folding Vase today and added some flowers using silk ribbon. It will go on a block for our bedspread. It's going to take me a long time to make the bedspread but at least I have started on it. I have 3 blocks pieced and will start embellishing them tonight.

CQ Book I made
I bought a kit from Paper wishes to make a little book but I didn't like the way it looked when I was half way finished so I tore the paper off and did a little sanding because I had already painted it, twice! I decided to make a little cq book. I wanted something besides a plain composition notebook to record my blood glucose and carbs. It has paper with the month, time and day. There is a pocket, envelope and divider. This was my first time making something like this. It was a lot of fun make. I think I could do better with my next one.

Quilted Tote
I made this quilted tote bag yesterday. I had cut 4 different ones out and I used the wrong straps on this one, but it turned out very pretty. The green in the straps is also in the quilted part of tote. I made a peach colored tote day before yesterday and my daughter got that one. She's good like that. :-)

I was looking at all my blocks that I've done and found this. This was the first and only ocean block that I've ever done. I hope to do another one and make it a little different. When I was about 10 or 11 years old I had to sing on stage and I was a nervous wreck to say the least. I even told my mother that I wasn't going to do it because I was so scared. She and my dancing teacher talked to me about it and I decided to go ahead and sing. I said part of a song about a mermaid in the sea. To this day I'm so glad that I did. It was the last time my mother ever got to see me on stage.

Beautiful Girl Re-done
I did this picture of my daughter over and like it much better. She was sleeping in bed one day and, now my, little dog Piper was laying right next to her. All I had to do for this picture was to put some make up on her face.
This is the original picture that I did it from. She was really asleep and the dog was too when I peeked in on her that early morning.

Color Blocks
I've been working on some color blocks. I still have some more colors to do. So far I have finished purple, blue and pink. They do look much better in hand. You can see more than in the picture.
I'm using my daughters camera, mine broke. For some reason it says 'card locked.' I've tried to move the little button on the card to unlock it but it still won't work. I'm not sure if I should get another camera or a card because I have another card and it does the same thing.

More Snow in Georgia
More snow here in Atlanta Georgia! The first picture I'm standing on my front porch. The last two pictures I'm standing at the french doors from my bedroom. We love living here in the woods, but I do wish it would snow more often. I remember spending two weeks once in New Jersey during Christmas. The snow was just beautiful!

Snow Pictures
I love the snow and we just don't get near enough, but it was beautiful coming down. I'm standing at the French doors out my bedroom and took the first picture. The second one I was standing on the front porch and took a picture of the driveway. Every now and then we'll get a few inches or more, but not this time. This is the first time I've seen it snow in 2 years. My grand boys are young and it was their first time seeing snow. The oldest boy is 4 but too young to remember his very first snow.

What I've been up to
Around the first week in November our PC tower literally blew up inside. It smelled like an electrical fire and the room had smoke in it. My husband unplugged everything. We put it in the shop and lost everything on our hard drive. All my pictures are gone! I was just sick over losing my pictures, still am. My in laws have been sick and I was sick for a good 2-3 weeks. We didn't get our computer back until sometime towards the 3rd week in December. I've started some small cq projects, a small wall hanging that I'm almost done with and I have some more small coin purses to make, kits to put together and a couple of quilts for my grandsons. That should keep me busy for a while.
This past Christmas was rather sad for my husband and I because of his father being sick. This was our 26th Christmas together and it was the saddest one we've ever had together, but I have faith in God and know that time will heal and things will get better.
One of my favorite magazines is Quiting Arts. Several issues ago was a pattern for a little cup holder. Here's a picture of the one I made this weekend.

In loving memory of my brother, David Michael Winchester
It's hard to believe that it's been 10 years. I miss him so much and wish that he was still here with us. The pain he bared was pain that I knew all too well myself. He always said I was the stronger one, but somehow I never saw it that way because he was 3 1/2 years older than me. He will live in my heart forever and is loved and missed by many. The last two pictures are of both of us when his life was happy.

Rainbow Bridge
These are all our sweet pets that have gone to Rainbow Bridge. We loved them and we miss them dearly.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

A Gift from a Friend-Vintage Pop-Up Cards Book
I'm in an ongoing private swap with an online friend of mine and below are pictures of this wonderful book she sent me! Vintage Pop-up Cards! The book is filled with pictures from the original cards. You just copy them and print them onto card stock from your printer. Then make them by following the directions. You can add beads, buttons and other things. I love this book! It's now one of my most favorite ones I have in my library. Thanks so much Toni!!!!!

Tussie Mussie
Tussie Mussie's are normally used in weddings and filled with flowers. Mine are crazy quilted and will be filled with small gifts. There is a close up of a spider and a bird that I did. The spiders web didn't show up in the pictures. My husband and I made the cone pattern then I pieced the fabric and embellished it. It was a lot of fun and I have a few more to make.

In Memory of Peppy
We lost our only little boy one year ago today. He was so young when we lost him.....only 4 1/2 years old. He had some major rare heart problems. I've never seen a dog just drop dead in front of me before....this was a first and I hope it's the last. I was devastated to say the least when I saw him die. But one good thing I can say is that I had just given him his medicine, kissed him on his head and patted his back. Then I sat him down and he followed me in my sewing room. Just a few seconds later, he died

Eastern Blue Birds
These really aren't very good pictures of this beautiful couple, but I had to take them. I walked in my bedroom and glanced out the french doors, through the lace curtains and saw them....got my digital and took some shots through the doors. If I had of opened the doors it would have scared them away.
Then this little bird flew up on the rail. I'm not sure what kind it is, but very pretty.

Crazy Quilted Dog Dress
Crocheted Button Flower Tutorial
Crocheted Button Flower
Designed by Sherry Wade
3 yards of DMC floss
Number 9 crochet hook
One 4-hole shirt button
Insert hook through one hole in button. Yarn over and pull thread through doing a slipstitch. Chain 5.
Yarn over and pull thread through the same hole doing a slipstitch. Chain 5. Repeat this step approximately 5 times. You’ll have 5 little pedals in one buttonhole. Keep doing this until you have filled up all holes in the button. I usually go through the same hole 5 times.
Attach the end to the beginning top or bottom stitch with a slipstitch. Leave about 8-10 inches of thread hanging. Cut. The hanging thread is used to sew to your project.
You can add tiny glass beads to the center for a “real” flower affect.
Enjoy!

CQ Purse
I bought a crazy quilted coin purse several months ago and just love making them. I'm still very new and have so much to learn about these. Here are a few that I've made. Making these purses is addicting!
